Drew Review - Masa’s

Masa’s superbness continues in complete culinary glory.
The four-course meal that I had is the beginning of this story.
It all started with perfectly seared foie gras.
My date had a green asparagus salad, flavored yet raw.

She then loved the Italian Eggplant Agnoletti.
I wasn’t feeling quite that healthy, so I passed,
And opted for the more exotic sauteed filet of Japanese sea bass.
It was delightful, its texture was right on the money.
During dinner I made a joke (my attempt to be funny).

It was meant for my date, with not much applause.
At that moment, the main course showed up. More power for the cause.
I had the roasted ribeye of Colorado lamb with melted Brussels sprouts and couscous with Moroccan lamb sauce.
My date finally gave in and had filet mignon of natural pork;
I thought she was going to get a salad to toss.

With the pork came roasted spring onions, cinnamon poached prunes,
fingerling potatoes and pork jus.
Next came the decadent desserts made, I believe, especially for Drew.
My date is a woman, so of course she had chocolate:
a croquant au chocolat to be exact.
I had the strawberry souffle. It was presented beautifully intact.

Masa’s a winner again, not too much of a surprise.
When you go make sure your stomach stays bigger than your eyes.
